The "Backpack Ministry"

The Deacons are again spearheading our Backpack Ministry. They will be purchasing 50 backpacks which we hope to fill with school supplies. These will be taken to Love INC, where they will be handed out to needy families. We were told that these were greatly appreciated last year and joyfully chosen by the children. We need to have all items turned into the church by Sunday, AUGUST 15, as some of the schools nearby start as early as Aug. 24. Beginning mid July the sales start. Target, Walmart, Walgreen's, K-Mart are all good places to look. We need: binders, notebook paper (wide ruled), dividers, crayons, markers, colored pencils, pencil sharpeners, rulers, pencil cases, erasers, scissors. A box will be in the narthex, so please start keeping your eyes open for good buys.
